This year’s Murray & Dickson Golf Day brought together leaders and partners from across the industry for a day of easy connection, good energy and a welcome break from the usual routine.

From the first tee-off, Johannesburg’s Houghton Golf Club was a hub of conversation, collaboration and friendly competition – and Lukas, Shaun, Bonga, Shaina, Iretha and Cheyenne from our underwriting team were excited to be part of it. “It was such a great turnout that the course felt alive! Wherever you looked were familiar faces from across the industry,” Shaun exclaims.

Hole 4: Where everyone won
PCBS-sponsored Hole 4 quickly earnt the reputation of being the day’s luckiest hotspot thanks to our game: golfers picked a coloured golf ball that matched a mystery prize. Everyone walked away with something, from golfing goodies to the grand prize, a R1,000.00 gift voucher from the Pro Shop – and of course they got to keep their lucky ball, too.

“We guaranteed that everyone would be a winner today,” says Shaina, who dreamt up the feel-good game. “That’s just how we work at PCBS – always putting our all into making every client feel valued.”

Meet Bonga, our new power player
The golf day also gave us the perfect moment to introduce our newest underwriter, Bonga. Clients are already raving about his calm confidence, service and attention to detail, and we couldn’t be happier to have him on the team.

A memorable shot (and a splash!)
And then came the moment destined to be retold at every office braai for years to come. Cheered on by the team at our sponsored hole, Bonga stepped up for his shot, focused and ready to impress. His form was flawless. His swing smooth. The ball sailed into the air and landed perfectly… plop right into the pond.
For a moment, everyone fell silent. Then burst into laughter. Bonga took a bow and quipped, “Well, at least I made a splash!”
Until the next tee-off
Laughter, on-course chats, lucky-draw wins and the now-famous splash at Hole 4 all added to a day with plenty of highlights. A huge thank you to Murray & Dickson for hosting an exceptional event, and to every partner, client and friend who made it such a delight.

Lukas wraps up the day perfectly: “We left with lighter hearts, stronger connections and a renewed appreciation for the people who shape our industry. Looking forward to the next round!”
